We all know the five second rule, we all know the don’t leave milk out rule but did you know if you don’t follow some of these rules not only could you end up sick… your penis could as well!
Yes! You heard that right, your penis could end up getting food poisoning! Watch what you’re eating, men! In Lebanon a man was checked into an area hospital for redness, itching and even swelling of the penis. At first glance the doctors thought perhaps it was a simple irritation - maybe the poor guy was allergic to the new fabric softener his wife was using but no they could not find the answer until… they tested for a specific type of bacteria.
According to the Daily Mail the doctors at the American University of Beirut found the bacteria that was harming the man was called Bacillus Cereus which is typically found in rice that has been left in room temperature for too long! The man’s penis had food poisoning!
According to the American University of Beirut this is the first documented case of food poisoning showing up in a genitals area. Not all hope was lost of the fellow though he was treated with an antibiotic that is typically used for eye infections. The man was sent home with clear instructions to not engage in any sexual activity and finish his antibiotics. Despite this incredible brush with bad luck the man recovered and has learned his lesson to stay away from rice that's been left out too long.
The moral of this story, because there must be one somewhere here, is to ensure you keep your penis clean, practice good hand hygiene and do not eat rice that has been left out on your countertop overnight.
